Support will require skills that can be learned from experience, courses, or college. We have seen a variety of requirements for job postings.
Easy To Start? Medium – If you have experience and a talent for fixing computers… then it will be easy to find work.
Pay: $20,000 – $70,000 – Pay varies depending mostly on education. The higher salaried paying positions mostly required college.
13. Medical Coder/Billing
Insurance companies will ensure that this career will always be in demand. Medical billing is the process of billing the insurance company. This requires knowledge on coding (understanding the billing codes) and patience. Medical billing/coding is a career that can be done remotely or from home. You will need a steady phone line.
Easy To Start? Very – Medical Coding/Billing doesn’t require a degree… but it does require a lot of knowledge. The best way to get started is to take a course or start with a medical billing company.
Pay: $45,000 – $65,000 – We saw a range of salaries for medical billing/coding. Once you are experienced enough, you can also start your own business and scale.
14. Virtual Assistant
Business people, managers, doctors, and others typically need help managing their affairs. A virtual assistant has the ability to work remotely and will help with scheduling, travel, and other tasks. This can be a really great career and does not require a college degree.
Easy To Start? Extremely – We found many remote virtual assistant jobs. Most of them had low requirements and were with startups.
Pay: $20,000 – $55,000 – For a job that has low requirements and allows you to work remotely, there are plenty of positions that have a good salary. We found many in the $35,000 a year range.
15. Data Entry
Data is the currency of the internet and requires attentive individuals to enter it. Data entry positions can range from entering client information to working in logistics and updating valuable data. These positions typically only have two requirements; be good with basic math and great attention to detail. Some mistakes can become big problems.
Easy To Start? Very – We found many data entry positions. Most of them that we saw were in logistics. Some required taking information from clients over the phone. Most of these positions were remote.
Pay: $15,000 – $40,000 – Many of the positions that we found had very low pay. We had to really search hard to find ones that paid around the $40,000 a year range.
16. Game Designer
If you are good with art, tech, math, and want a cool career this one is for you. Video games are a 19.72 Billion Dollar industry. People are playing video games on their phones, consoles, and computers. Virtually reality will hold a lot of great growth potential. There are also many gaming companies that allow their designers to work remote.
Easy To Start? Medium – In order to become a game designer you will either need a to take a bootcamp or get a college degree. We noticed that most of the remote jobs that we found required college. This could change as bootcamps are becoming more popular.
Pay: $40,000 – $200,000 – We found plenty of salaries for remote game designers around $70,000 and some even offered commission based on game sales!
17. Human Resource Manager
Does helping people find their dream job sound like your dream job? Finding the perfect candidate can be very difficult for companies, especially when they are hiring remote workers. Human resource managers will manage hiring, employee policies, and more. Some companies are calling this position the employee happiness officers. There are many remote HR positions available. Many of these remote positions are with startups.
Easy To Start? Medium – Most of the positions that we found required a degree. Some positions were okay with only a couple years of college.
Pay: $30,000 – $90,000 – This will depend on experience and the company. The majority of remote HR jobs that we found paid around $48,000 a year.
18. Public Relations
Public Relation Agents help companies with press releases and other public relation tasks. Some agents may find themselves representing celebrities or top CEO’s. This career can be a lot of fun and also stressful managing bad press and social problems. Many companies are willing to hire remote PR agents.
Easy To Start? Medium – Most PR positions that we found required college and wanted some experience. You have the option to become an interdependent agent or work directly for one company.
Pay: $30,000 – $70,000 – Most remote PR jobs that we found offered a salary around $45,000 a year. We noticed that the majority of them were with tech startups.
19. Grant Writer
Many nonprofits and startups rely on getting grants to fund their operations/expansions. These grants generally have a lot of competition and have a lot of requirements. As a remote grant writer you may find contract work and find full-time positions with nonprofits. It can be an incredibly rewarding career.
Easy To Start? Very – Grant writing is not hard to learn and takes practice. Generally experience will be more valuable than a degree. You can gain experience or try the career by volunteering to write grants for nonprofits!

Easy To Start? Kinda – First you will need a medical degree. Second, remote nursing positions are not very popular yet. We are seeing more and more every month. Get in early!
Pay: $55,000 – $100,000 – Most of the remote nursing positions had excellent salaries. We even found a few remote RN positions that paid above $100,000 a year. These positions were more in a management role.
